Ready to make a difference?
SBP is recruiting AmeriCorps members to serve in physical construction, community engagement, and construction coordination. YOU have an opportunity to drive change and deliver hope to disaster-impacted families!
As an AmeriCorps member serving with SBP, you will become part of the growing national service movement, and have the opportunity to develop and hone professional skills with a dynamic social-impact organization that is pioneering a new model for disaster recovery.
Join SBP’s AmeriCorps team and serve 10 months in one of the following roles:
- As a Project Lead, you will do basic construction tasks on-site, including training and coaching volunteers.
- As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will recruit, onboard, and support volunteers.
- As a Supply & Logistics Coordinator, you will coordinate the operations of SBP’s warehouse and delivery system to ensure project sites have the tools and materials they need.
- As a Construction Coordinator, you will coordinate subcontractor schedules and monitor the progress of construction projects, ensuring proper permits are secured for each site.
- As a Client Services Coordinator, you will serve as the point of contact and resource for the clients of SBP, assessing their needs, providing referrals, and offering support throughout the application and rebuilding processes.
- As a Client Preparedness Coordinator, you will execute community-wide preparedness engagements and work with SBP's clients to increase their knowledge and capacity to make more informed disaster preparedness decisions.
- As a FEMA Appeals Client Service Coordinator, you will assist clients with their eligibility for FEMA application or appeal assistance either in person, via phone, or video platforms such as FaceTime or Zoom.
- As a Disaster Corps Project Lead, you commit to being first on the ground post-disaster in the event of deployment. During blue-skies, you will lead construction projects on clients' homes and supervise volunteers.
If you’re committed to learning, have a strong work ethic, and enjoy leading volunteers, we want you on our team! Candidates without prior construction or otherwise applicable experience are still encouraged to apply.
COVID-19 Safety Statement: While COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are highly encouraged, they are not mandatory for SBP team members at this time. However, SBP strongly recommends that all team members stay current with vaccinations and boosters, which remains one of the best ways to protect themselves, their colleagues, and the clients we serve.
