Information

Notice to Applicants

JVS SoCal together with its wholly owned subsidiaries, (“JVS SoCal” or “the Company”), is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. It is JVS SoCal’s policy to employ qualified individuals without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender, national origin, ancestry, citizen status, age, marital status, sexual orientation, domestic partner status, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic or condition protected by applicable state or federal law. It is also against JVS SoCal policies to discriminate against a disabled veteran, or against a veteran in the Vietnam era, uniformed service or any other characteristics protected by applicable law. Applicants are not required to give any information prohibited by law. To be considered an applicant for a position, we require you to submit a completed application form in its entirety for an open position for which you possess the minimum required skills and/or experience as determined by JVS SoCal.

JVS SoCal conducts background investigations on all persons to whom it extends conditional offers of employment before they may begin work. The Company reserves the right to withdraw an offer of, or terminate employment, if the information or results obtained because of the background investigation are deemed unacceptable by JVS SoCal. The background check may include:

  • Confirmation of past employment: JVS SoCal will contact your references (former employers and individuals listed by you in the “References” section of the Application for Employment).
  • Criminal background check
  • Military service
  • Education
  • Review of public records

For certain positions, the background check may include a consumer credit report, Department of Motor Vehicles verification and/or investigative report. Honest disclosures regarding criminal, driving, military and employment records which contain potentially negative information are not an automatic bar to employment; however, providing false information, including omissions, incorrect and/or incomplete statements, may result in refusal of employment or cause for termination, whether discovered before or after employment begins.

All background investigations are conducted in accordance with all applicable laws, and the Company provides all the appropriate disclosures and authorizations to prospective and current employees prior to initiating such inquiries.

In addition, all active JVS SoCal employees are required to:

  • Complete an Employment Verification Form I-9 and provide legally required proof establishing identity and eligibility to work in the United States in accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 within three days of the first day of work.
  • Sign and comply with the terms of the Company’s Confidentiality and Client/Participant Information Policy.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures applicable to all employees generally, and/or that are applicable to their positions or functions within the Company.
  • Comply with all requirements set forth in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (“CBA”) if your position is represented by a union.
