Community Health Development Partners is seeking an experienced accountant to support our growing accounting function. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing processes for recording accounting entries and financial statements preparation. As a strong communicator and skilled financial accountant, you will make it your mission to streamline our financial reporting processes. You will create and manage accounting processes to help improve our operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.

Objectives of this Role

• Performs general financial accounting and other related duties for the organization.

• Prepares monthly balance sheets and profit and loss statements.

• Maintains the general ledger.

• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.

• Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.

• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.

• Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.

• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

• Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.

• Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.

• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements as well as the requirements of private contributions, loans, and government contracts

• Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both team and organizational budgets and actual expenditures

• Maintain consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation

• Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required.

• At least three years of related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experienced with Sage Intacct General Ledger a plus

• Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis

• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and reporting

• Experience with New Market Tax Credit highly a plus

• Experience in Healthcare industry a plus
