POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Assistant is responsible to undertake a variety of HR administrative duties. Duties include onboarding, benefit administration, data management, supporting the HR team, and assisting with HR projects. This position plays a key role in our applicant’s and employee’s impression of TLC, and therefore demonstrating that TLC is a warm, welcoming, and inclusive community is paramount to the position. Friendly, organized, and conscientious, this individual must exemplify customer service, to both internal and external stakeholders, in an environment in which ASL is the primary language of communication.



FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with all HR functions, including but not limited to:
  • Application and onboarding process, conduct reference checks, assist with orientation, create new employee files, ensure all necessary paperwork is properly filled out and submitted.
  • Maintain the HR calendar and schedule any meetings the HR team requires.
  • Maintain employee HRIS information. Produce reports, track and analyze data.
  • Assist with administering health and benefit plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations.
  • Process TLC required background checks and schedule fingerprint check appointments.
  • Ability to complete expense reports and track HR spending.
  • Perform administrative functions such as filing, copying, mailing, scanning, and fielding HR calls, emails, and inquiries.

Requirements
  • Knowledge of Human Resources practices and law
  • Ability to keep information confidential
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and proficient with Mac/Apple computers, as well as an ability and willingness to learn new applications
  • Associates Degree and/or 2+ years of experience required
  • Excellent, detail-oriented organizational skills
  • Fluent in American Sign Language, or willingness to learn
  • Willing to take initiative and work independently
