ABOUT TABULA RASA FARMS
Tabula Rasa Farms is a 440 acre, diversified, regenerative farm that sits amongst the foothills of Oregon’s Coast Range, 4 miles west of Carlton, OR. We have an integrated livestock and garden operation where we raise grass-fed/grass-finished cattle, forested and pasture-raised heritage breed hogs, laying hens, and turkeys. Our 3 acre market garden runs a 4-season program growing 140 varieties of vegetables and fruits supporting local restaurants and a CSA program.

WHY WE NEED YOU
We are seeking a self-motivated, skilled individual with at least 2 years of practical farm, animal handling experience and/or crop production. We are a growing farm and have a great farm team in place, come join our team and grow with us.
The farm hand will be involved in all aspects of Tabula Rasa Farms’ pasture-based livestock production including cow/calf operation duties, heritage cross hogs, poultry, as well as any and all general farm activities. This role also requires periodic rotations in crop and garden production. The Farm Hand position has growth and advancement opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting in all day to day farm activities
- Must have tractor experience, livestock and/or crop production experience
- Animal care (feeding, watering, birthing, moving fences and doctoring animals)
- Implementing rotational grazing plans, setting up paddocks, moving and feeding animals
- Field work (mowing, haying, seasonal planting, building fences and waterlines)
- Assist fellow TRF staff and interns with farm related projects
- Other duties as required
- This job requires a valid drivers license with no citations or minimal low-level citations
- Will be required to drive company vehicles, UTVs, and farm equipment
PERFERRED QULIFICATIONS:
- Experience in at least two of the following subjects is preferred but not required: animal husbandry, rotational grazing, permaculture, forestry.
- Experience in one of the following preferred: basic carpentry, electrical and/or plumbing
- Aptitude for practical, manual work
- Comfortable working outdoors and in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work independently and with limited social interactions
- Some mechanical aptitude
- Ability to confidently work with animals
- Physical capability to perform heavy work
Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
Hours of Work: If full-time this position requires 40-55 hours of work. Farm Hands will have 2 days off, except in special situations and days off are not always weekends. Weekend work required. If part-time this position requires 20-30 hours of work per week.
Compensation:?This position is an hourly position. Compensation based on skills and experience.
Pay: $17/hr +, Dependent on experience
