Fenner, Melstrom & Dooling, PLC is currently seeking a tax professional with a minimum of five years of experience.

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing client relationship by organizing completion of individual and business tax returns and coordinating clients’ data for the accurate and timely completion of financial statements engagements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, and ongoing business consulting.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs diversified tax and accounting assignments.
  • Demonstrates competency in technical skills, work quality, and application of professional and firm standards.
  • Meets budget time constraints and client deadlines.
  • Participates in planning and scheduling of client engagements.
  • Prepares working papers for tax preparation.
  • Prepares routine correspondence to client and taxing jurisdictions.
  • Must have exceptional communication skills and a solid business background.

Other functions:

  • Seasonal accounting assignments, other reports, special projects, and duties as may be assigned.

Required Experience:

  • At least five (5) years’ experience in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity of attestation and accounting tasks and tax knowledge.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate should have a client-focused work ethic and have a passion for high-level client service.


Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in tax or accounting; Master’s degree in tax preferred.
  • Minimum of forty hours continuing professional education is required each year.

Required Licenses, Certificates or Knowledge:

  • Current certified public accountant’s license
  • A member in good standing with the AICPA and MICPA.
  • Proficiency in use of computers and computer accounting and tax software programs.
