We are currently seeking a full time Master Scheduler to join our team in Harrisburg, NC to help us deliver on our lifesaving mission of equipping and enabling responders at every skill level to preserve life in any environment. 

The Master Scheduler will be responsible for developing and maintaining master production schedules, assuring proper planning of production priorities, capacity, and resource requirements. This role is responsible for ensuring the schedules are followed and communicating delays to the appropriate departments. In addition, s/he must provide clear communication of requirements and capabilities to sales, purchasing, engineering, and operations. The Master Scheduler’s scope includes monitoring finished stock levels, providing production status updates to management and communicating stock dates for all products that have open orders to the customer service team and facilitating the timely delivery of products to customers.

Essential Job Functions

  • Creates production schedule based on ERP requirements, frozen schedule time fence of 10 days with soft schedule out 30 days.
  • Aligns production schedule with key customer requirements ensuring Customer Service, Sales, & Operations priorities are considered, and the schedule is adjusted to deliver critical orders. Ensures the Warehouse team is aware of the priorities and order to ship.
  • Meets weekly with supply chain to review inventory levels of components needed to support production schedule.
  • Communicates production schedule to the Production Manager and partners with them to assure schedule can be met and adjust as needed.
  • Maintains percent to plan based on scheduled units vs. actual units built each week.
  • Performs capacity planning and schedules workflow for production based on ERP outputs.
  • Reviews capacity requirements and develops reports to identify time periods when capacity could impact production’s ability to meet demand.
  • Maintains constant communication with main stakeholders from Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain and Logistics pertinent to requirements and impacts.
  • Participates in periodic forecasting meetings with sales and other related departments including SIOP.
  • Collaborates with purchasing on a weekly basis to reconcile current production schedule with available inventory of raw materials and adjust the schedule accordingly including communication of changes to stakeholders.
  • Integrates sales orders with master schedule; coordinates availability of equipment and staff as needed to meet delivery dates.
  • Recommends viable solutions to reduce production costs and improve production processes and product quality.
  • Meets weekly with the Production Manager to review master schedule changes and understand delays.
  • Actively works to support the development of peers to promote a comprehensive understanding of various functions throughout the planning team.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline required. In the absence of a bachelor’s degree, a combination of education and/or experience may be substituted.
  • 7+ years of experience in production planning in a manufacturing setting is required.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills required.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.  
  • Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and related ERP system software required. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (D365) highly preferred.

Physical Requirements

Performing the duties of this job regularly involves sitting, standing, walking, hearing/listening, grasping, and reaching. Vision requirements include the ability for close vision, to adjust focus, to color code.

Other Requirements:

Occasional travel may be required, domestic and international (<5%).
