We are growing and are looking for an exceptional Color Formulation Scientist who can contribute to our exciting and fast-paced organization.

Job Description:

The Color Formulation Scientist is a professional who will assist NFW in developing color strategies and systems that enable rapid development and iterative color matching. This role is responsible for planning and executing against key deliverables based on customer feedback and design inspirations. 


  • Assists in new formulation and process development by performing lab scale experiments, evaluation, compatibility of new raw materials, and performs product stability.
  • Manage individual, complex innovation projects
  • Manage, lead and motivate cross-functional project teams
  • Effectively function within a team environment or work as an individual contributor and is responsible for his/her level of authority for ensuring compliance with all approved policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Ensure implementation of necessary technical resources to meet targets and deadlines
  • Development of new color shades to support new sales projects and their implementation at the customer level.
  • Support in the correction and reprocessing of defective batches.
  • Complete measurements of color samples.
  • Other duties as assigned. 



  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in STEM related fields. Preferably: Chemistry, Materials Science & Engineering, Polymers Science, or related discipline. Preferably MS, PhD.
  • 1-5 years of experience in color formulation and pigmenting strategies.
  • Basic software literacy: Microsoft Office (required)
  • Working in a laboratory environment and handling hazardous chemicals
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a research & development lab. Experience with paint/coatings preferred.
