Description

  Job Summary: 

The Scientist/Senior Scientist is accountable for vectorology core activities, driving vector design and engineering, and vectorology research. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with AAV vector design and engineering (promoter engineering, ON- and OFF-switches, regulatory sequences, miRNA-based detargeting, etc…). In this newly created role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead a small team internally, manage CROs, and drive several innovative vectorology research projects. In this visible role, he/she will represent Preclinical Delivery & Development in cross functional program teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and mentorship to 1-2 direct reports
  • Manage vectorology core activities
  • Design and oversee execution of AAV vector design and engineering
  • Lead vectorology research projects
  • Responsible for technology transfer of external assets as needed
  • Manage external partners and work closely with Analytics team to ensure timeliness and quality of deliverables
  • Represent Preclinical Delivery & Development in cross functional program teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD or equivalent in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Virology, or a related field 
  • 2+ years of experience with translational/therapeutic programs
  • Skilled in AAV vector design and/or expression construct engineering (promoter engineering, ON- and OFF-switches, regulatory sequences, miRNA-based detargeting, etc…)
  • Innovative and science-driven
  • Collaborative and an excellent communicator
  • Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment
