FRG | The Financial Risk Group is a risk management consulting firm based in Cary, NC.   We are dedicated to providing premier risk management advisory and implementation services to clients around the world. We help clients maximize the effectiveness and the value of their investments in risk management technology, methodology, and processes.  

 In your role as an Associate Consultant or higher, Strategy Analyst concentration area, at a minimum you will:

  • Create standards, process designs, procedures, user guides, and model documentation for a variety of audiences
  • Perform "knowledge transfer" sessions with clients to help them learn how to use the technology they have purchased
  • Educate internal and external clients on topics related to financial risk management, machine learning, financial regulations, or data governance
  • Design flow charts and process maps to explain complex systems
  • Use Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), hypothesis testing, and other analytical techniques to analyze and evaluate data
  • Use technology, analytics, and data to help companies make decisions
  • Employ techniques in critiquing, research, and group facilitation
  • Contribute and continue to learn as a junior member of the implementation team
  • Organize and deliver all assigned presentation topics
  • Pass any additional required certifications
  • Embrace challenges and learn new skills; be a catalyst for positive change
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Minimum Essential Skills:

  • MS degree in the areas of Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Sciences, or Finance AND 0-2 years relevant experience OR BS degree PLUS a minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • Technical Writing - on a scale of 1 to 3, you are a 2 (1 = Learning, 2 = fluent, 3 = Subject matter expert)
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of statistical analysis
  • Exposure to computer programming using at least one of the following programming languages: R, Python, SAS
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Excellent problem solving, decision making, and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as business needs dictate
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team
