Marketing & Content Assistant
Description

Job Summary: This position will provide support and assistance to the marketing department, including specific functions regarding content, social media, budget, and program/event execution. 


This is a full-time benefited position and will be posted until filled

Salary range is $32,000 to $34,000 annual


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Post regularly on social media under the direction of the Communications Manager
  • Assist with audience relations and tracking
  • Create content to support the Institute’s communications and marketing priorities
  • Content shared on all marketing channels, including social media, website, blog, employee newsletter
  • Assist with basic WordPress website edits
  • Assist with accounting and expense reports under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Communications
  • Coordinate marketing preparation before and at programs
  • Use project management tool Basecamp to assign tasks and meet deadlines
  • Assist in coordinating photo and video shoots

Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist Design & Production Officer with inventory/maintenance of marketing and promotional materials
  • Scheduling meetings, checking department email address, sorting mail, etc.
  • Assist with email marketing campaigns
  • As needed, compile information to track the progress of the marketing department for reports
Requirements

Competency or position requirements:

  • Professional, confident verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets), Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proactive and collaborative problem-solver
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Reliable transportation and flexible work schedule 
  • Basic knowledge and use of 2-3 social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn)

Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED


Preferred Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Candidates with specific equivalent experience (4+ years of required experience below) will be considered.


Required Experience: Demonstrated experience handling administrative tasks; 1-2 years of previous experience in marketing or communications; 1-2 years of prior experience managing social media platforms preferred
