Hillel Day School of Metropolitan Detroit, located in Farmington Hills, Michigan seeks a charismatic, motivated, self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, who is passionate about bringing students and their families into the Hillel community. The successful candidate will understand the importance of, and embrace, Hillel’s mission, values, and philosophy with the ability to enthusiastically convey these and the Hillel experience to prospective families. They must bring energy, creativity, a positive attitude, and integrity to the position. The Admission Coordinator, in conjunction with the Director of Advancement, is responsible for managing all aspects of the prospective student/family admission experience and current student retention.


The Coordinator must be able to conduct engaging campus tours, be energized by a fast-paced work environment, and enjoy the challenges and opportunities of working with many different constituencies.


The Coordinator will work collaboratively within the Advancement Office, as well as within other departments throughout Hillel, to develop strong relationships with constituents both inside and outside of Hillel. 

Requirements

  

? Identify, attract, recruit, and retain mission-appropriate students

? Lead dynamic and engaging visits for prospective families that showcase the school, faculty, educational program, mission, and vision

? Collaborate in the development and implementation of programming designed to engage prospective families, current families, and new families with the school and build a strong and meaningful community

? Play an instrumental role in the scheduling, coordinating, and execution of all admission events including prospective parent coffees, school tours, student visits and interviews, and parent interviews, open house events, parent and student orientation, and assessment of new students

? Participate in all facets of the enrollment process, including fielding inquiries, scheduling and conducting campus tours and interviews, creating applicant files, and managing the accurate input and export of data into the admission database, including entry and tracking of inquiries, applications, supporting documents, and decisions using our application management system (Blackbaud)

? Work with and motivate the Parent and Student Ambassadors 

? Communicating accurately, positively, and in a timely way with prospective families about Hillel through multiple modes of communication throughout the entire process, from inquiry through enrollment

? Develop and sustain relationships with feeder schools 

? Work closely with marketing to communicate the school to prospective families

? Collaborate with other independent schools about trends and best practices

? Conduct thorough and thoughtful evaluations of applicant files and offer recommendations for admission decisions

? Represent Hillel at off-site admissions events


Qualifications:

? Bachelor’s degree; an advanced degree is strongly preferred

? High emotional intelligence and exceptional interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and written and oral communication skills are a must

? Excitement for working in a fast-paced and collaborative setting and the proven ability to balance multiple priorities in a complex environment while maintaining professionalism and a sense of humor

? 2+ years prior experience as an admissions professional preferred

? Flexibility to work early mornings and evenings at various campus events

? Strong ability to work proactively, take initiative and think creatively

? Ability to receive and process confidential/sensitive information with discretion and in accordance with established guidelines and legal standards 

? Knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, social media, Google Docs, and ability to train on Blackbaud database software
