Description

WORK DESCRIPTION:


To provide prevention education and training for designated communities and schools.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Establish relationships with schools, parents, youth and other community stakeholders in program service area. 
  • Recruit schools to participate in Illinois Youth Survey.
  • Execute Communication Campaigns. 
  • Facilitate Youth Prevention Education in school and community settings. 
  • Ensure fidelity to evidence-based curricula. 
  • Provide services and knowledge around substance use / abuse and prevention.
  • Participate in ongoing staff development and training.
  • Keep current on substance abuse prevention strategies and information.
  • Identify resources and establish a referral system within and among community agencies designed to support youth and families.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly statistics, narrative and activity reports. 
  • Attend all staff meetings and scheduled supervisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field preferred;
  • Valid Illinois Drivers License is required and the ability to drive under the agency’s insurance policy;
  • Familiarity with community service area preferred; 
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written required;
  • Previous experience working with youth and adolescents in a school and/or community setting preferred.
