JOB TITLE: Director of Pharmacy
EMPLOYER: Twelfth One, dba Aspen Infusion

REPORTS TO: VP of Clinical Operations
SALARY: $160,000+ per year based on experience plus an annual bonus
SUMMARY: The Director of Pharmacy is responsible for leading and directing all pharmacy activities of Aspen Infusion so that the objectives of the company are consistently and successfully achieved. The Director of Pharmacy sets strategies for future business growth, directs the management team of the company, and ensures the financial stability of the company.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must become licensed Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) for the Board of Pharmacy
- Establish goals for the pharmacy in conjunction with the President. Monitor progress towards these goals on a consistent basis, and report results to the President.
- Develop and implement plans for the company's growth initiatives.
- Advise the President on the finances and budget of the company, and the activities of the sales and marketing department.
- Oversee the pharmacy services of the company, including monitoring internal company processes and operations.
- Guiding clinical operational aspects of the program and oversight of the clinical decision-making aspects of the program.
- Recruit, hire, and direct pharmacy staff to ensure that they carry out the goals of the company. Hold clinicians accountable to the organization for decisions affecting consumers.
- Conduct meetings with members of the pharmacy staff at regular intervals.
- Arrange for performance evaluation of each member of the pharmacy annually; establish annual performance goals, and monitor progress toward these goals on a consistent basis.
- Maintain ongoing liaison with all pharmacy staff members in order to obtain their cooperation toward the achievement of the goals of the company.
- Consult with practitioners in the field as needed to improve organization processes and patient outcomes.
- Ensure ongoing company compliance with all laws and regulations; ensure that the company meets or exceeds accreditation standards; and implement ‘’best practices’’ in department activities.
- Delegate authority as necessary to ensure that all responsibilities of this position and pharmacy operations are fulfilled in a timely and accurate manner.

- Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies. Initiate appropriate actions on reports and recommendations provided by authorized inspection agencies.
- Participate in the company’s Performance Improvement program as requested by the Performance Improvement Coordinator.
- Participate in company committees when requested.
- Participate in in-service education programs provided by the company.
- Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities and license requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy in the absence of the President.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervises employees within the Pharmacy department, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Technician Trainees.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pharmacy Degree and State Licensure.
- Computer skills preferred: Accounting Software; Contract Management Systems; Development Software; Human Resource Systems; Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Payroll Systems; Project Management Software
- Ability to organize and plan the activities of subordinates, and to delegate appropriately.
- Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.
- Current knowledge of all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Continually required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
- Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
- Frequent exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens or infectious materials
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move up to 30 pounds
