 Position Summary

The College to Career Supervisor is responsible for monitoring progress and aligning support for students on their path toward college completion. A successful candidate is a passionate believer in the power of education to improve the lives of immigrant youth and their families. Candidates should have the ability to work Monday-Thursday from 10am-6pm PST and Friday from 9am-5pm PST, including occasional evenings and Saturdays. This is an in-person role with occasional hybrid opportunity. This is an in-person position, requires proof of Covid-19 vaccination, and candidates must live in the State of California. 

Essential Functions

• Supervise the College to Career program

• Lead professional development and training programs for college students based on academics, social-emotional support, network building, resume building, etc. 

• Provide case management and progress monitoring for about 40-50 college students 

• Identify needs of students and their families, and arrange for access to support services

• Identify and align internship opportunities for college students

• Support students through their career entry, and track their progress after college graduation 

• Design and teach college major exploration classes and career readiness class to high school students in Canal Alliance’s University Prep Program 

• Supervise college panels to present to high school youth and attend 1 outdoor, overnight, enrichment retreat per year 

• Provide college financial advisement to high school seniors and college students

• Supervise the Canal Alliance College to Career scholarship fund 

• Hold office hours at colleges and attend important school events

• Engage families of college students in their student’s education through regular communication, and parent education and empowerment

• Work in partnership with University Prep and College to Career outside organizational partners

• Maintain student information and case notes in Salesforce and Excel

This is a full-time exempt position with benefits with a salary range from 65k-70k.  We offer a competitive salary with a benefits package that includes 3 weeks paid vacation a year, 12 days of sick leave a year, a voluntary vision plan and 100% paid employee medical & dental insurance as well as long term disability and an employee assistance program. Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university or relevant case management experience

• At least 1-year experience working with first generation college students and/or students from underserved backgrounds 

• Bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

• Experience working with Salesforce and/or other CRM (preferred) 

• Minimum of 1 year experience working with students of color or immigrant youth, in an educational environment 

 Knowledge, skills and abilities 

• Knowledge of minimum college entry requirements and college application process 

• Knowledge of current research and trends in college readiness and completion

• Ability to establish positive and cooperative relationships with students, families, staff, and partners

• Ability to use restorative practices with students, families, and staff

• Ability to collect, analyze and use data at the student level

• Ability to effectively communicate information both verbally and in writing 

• Ability to take initiative and go beyond expectations in the assignment, task, or job description

• Ability to function with minimal supervision, follow directions, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and manage stressful situations effectively 

• Strong time management and organization skills 

• Strong leadership and classroom management skills

• Valid CA Driver’s License and reliable transportation required
