Position Title: Program Supervisor

Program: Bridges to Wellness

Classification: Part-Time 15hrs/ Temporary Assignment

Salary: $31.00- $33.00 per hour; Commensurate with experience

Bridges to Wellness is a grant funded pilot project set to expand to a fully operational organization. The goal is to create a hub bringing together the collective knowledge of the Union of Pan Asian Communities (UPAC) and United Women of East Africa Support Team (UWEAST) and soon other refugee serving organizations. This hub will incorporate the successes of trusted messengers represented by wellness navigators and the network we've built through refugee serving organizations. This model will break down cultural barriers and stigmas to receiving services and fill the areas of need often presented by refugee and immigrant communities. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hire, supervise, support and evaluate staff
  • Review and approve staff timesheets, mileage, request for leave, prepare necessary grant reporting as scheduled, oversight of monthly expenditures and other administrative documentation 
  • Oversee the delivery of all services including facilitating compliance with all grant requirements 
  • Ensure that all contract goals are met, such as number of required client contacts, and number of groups conducted
  • Provide training to staff regarding service delivery as needed and lead weekly or daily staff meetings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop program plan and schedule for Bridges to Wellness that reflects needs assessment data that ensures client voice in program design 
  • Coordinate with community relationships with other community partners/stakeholders to bring in relevant programs into Bridges to Wellness
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of important information and data in accordance with HIPAA and other program requirements. 
  • Alert Supervisors of any non-routine requests for information or services from the community.
  • Manage referrals and provide culturally proficient services to program participants and attend to diverse needs including but not limited to language needs 
  • Provide peer counseling, including support and education on how to navigate the health care system.
  • Other duties as requested.

Minimum Experience and Qualifications Required:

  • At least one-year of experience in a leadership or supervisory position, 
  • Must have leadership skills and ability to work well with a multidisciplinary staff of professionals, paraprofessionals and consultants.
  • Commitment to cultural competence, and willing to work with a diverse group of community members and clients from various ethnic and refugee communities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the cultural issues that impact adults from refugee and immigrant communities.
  • Ability to prepare written reports and records of services rendered.
  • Must be comfortable in developing relationships with other providers and healthcare providers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize and successfully bring them to fruition.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, patience and professionalism in dealing with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding sensitive or proprietary information or materials.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with Asian/Pacific Islander, refugee, and other ethnic consumers, communities and staff. 
  • Must demonstrate intermediate level of computer literacy and experience using office productivity software i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet browsers, and Outlook. 
  • Must have TB clearance.
  • Must be COVID-19 vaccinated and have received booster if applicable or have medical/religious exemption
  • Must pass background check (Live Scan Fingerprint).
  • Must be able to drive for business purposes to other program locations in San Diego County.
  • Must have a valid California driver’s license and comprehensive automobile insurance coverage, as required by law.
  • Will not be debarred or excluded from participation in Federal programs by the General Services Administration and/or the Department of Health and Human Services of the Inspector General.

Additional Preferred Education or Qualifications:

  • Bilingual/bicultural experience and language ability preferred.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Spends approximately 70% of work time sitting and meeting with others or working at a desk and/or computer. Spends approximately 30% of work time standing or walking within the work area or outside the office at meetings and events, also bends, twists, stoops and reaches. Ability to communicate in writing and verbally. Regularly required to sit and talk or hear. Frequently is required to use hands to touch, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds. Working conditions are normal for an office environment and event venues. The noise level is usually moderate.
