As a Tableau Developer at Springbuk, this position will be instrumental in our utilization of Tableau by creating amazing visualizations, diving into complicated SQL queries, and following best practices in data source management, source control, and security. Working closely with our Health Analytics, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams, this person will help ensure that Springbuk's use of Tableau is best in class. The subject matter expert will have a knack for performance optimization, can troubleshoot their way out of just about anything, and never sacrifices on privacy or security. Here’s what you will do:
- Design, develop, test and maintain data visualizations in Tableau, Snowflake, and Postgres
- Work with our analytic consulting team and technology team to build and curate standardized and ad hoc reporting for usage and delivery to Springbuk clients and internal stakeholders
- Creation of new Tableau data sources and modification of existing data sources
- Troubleshoot and resolve production support issues related to Tableau reports, workbooks, data sources, queries and client connections
- Educate and empower end users (both internal and external) on reporting and data sources
- Train other members of the organization (and client users) on Tableau reporting as necessary
- Develop and analyze high performing, complex SQL queries to deliver business value to end users
- Work closely with data engineers, software developers, and architects to advance the analytic value of the Springbuk platform
- Administer the Tableau environments at Springbuk including: Site Creation, User Account Provisioning, License Management, and Content Management
- Work with finance, legal, and customer service to acquire, distribute and manage licenses for internal and external users
A successful candidate will have:
- 1+ years of experience with Tableau solution development including creating of workbooks, reports, and data sets
- Intermediate to advanced SQL skills
- 1+ years of experience designing, developing, implementing, managing and supporting full lifecycle reporting from intake to end user delivery
- Understanding of engineering best practices
- Growth mindset
- Experience in healthcare claims is optional but highly desired

- 30 days -
- Learn the Springbuk business
- Familiarize yourself with the Springbuk application
- Develop an understanding of our data processing pipeline
- Establish high level knowledge of our current Tableau deployment and key data sources.
- Meet with representative from each department within Springbuk
- Build knowledge of our customers by attending sales and support calls
- Build knowledge of our product by listening to product and marketing enablement sessions
- Review quarterly and annual goals and metrics
- 60 days -
- Have developed and delivered low complexity (and high quality) reports
- Modifications to data sources
- Taken over primary responsibility for Tableau environments
- Develop a high level understanding of the Springbuk data model
- Attend calls with other Consulting team members
- Assist team members in reporting where applicable
- 90 days -
- Consistently authoring advanced visualizations to end users
- Established as a go-to resource for Tableau data sources and end client reporting within Springbuk.
- Ability to complete the day to day functions of the job independently
