The Database Manager is responsible for effective entry, use, and reporting of data as it pertains to a broad solicitation and communications strategy to donors and potential partner ministries. In addition to ensuring data integrity, the Database Manager provides statistical reporting and analysis, and mailing list management in coordination with the other functions of the Mission Advancement team. This person must strongly embody and reinforce the EC values of Zeal, Fun, Candor, Excellence, and All Things to All People.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  The following statements reflect the general details necessary to describe the major functions of this position and are not intended to be a detailed description of all the work/functions that may be required. Other duties may be assigned. Individual will work a varied schedule based on client needs.

· Database Management: The Database Manager is primarily responsible for the quality and integrity of the department’s data, ensuring accuracy and usability for fundraising, marketing, and expansion. This position will be primarily responsible for entering data into Salesforce for all fundraising and expansion needs except for those tasks that are specifically assigned to Mission Advancement Officers.

· Reporting: The Database Manager produces weekly, monthly, and annual reports needed for to-date and comparative performance tracking, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis. This position will work particularly with the accounting office to regularly reconcile financials with the mission advancement team’s work.

· Lists: The production of accurate lists for solicitations, marketing, and other expansion communications is essential to the department success. The Database Manager is responsible for producing lists on both a scheduled and ad hoc basis including conducting research as needed to build lists of potential partner ministries.

· Donor Stewardship: The Database Manager will implement a year-round effort to send compelling notes of gratitude to all donors to the Evangelical Catholic. This will include sending thank you notes when gifts are received and any other documents required by applicable IRS rules. Additionally, the Database Manager will work with donors who set up recurring gifts, making modifications as requested and ensuring that credit card and banking information on file is accurate and secure.

· Partner Ministry Expansion: The Database Manager will enter new contact information from potential client ministries and manage campaigns in Salesforce ensuring accurate and useful data for expansion efforts.

· Project Management: From time to time, a special need for a larger scale project will arise. If it affects data in any way, the Database Manager will be required to lead and manage the effort.

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field

· 3-5 years’ experience in data management in a fundraising or sales environment

· Familiarity with Salesforce is preferred

· Must be able to work cooperatively in a demanding environment while maintaining a sense of customer service to coworkers

· Demonstrated ability and desire to effectively communicate both orally and written with diverse stakeholders

· Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, autonomously, and meet challenging timelines and quality standards


· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 

· Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 

· Ability to effectively present statistical data and process driven information in lay terms to groups of managers, clients, and/or board.


· Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory when reviewing and interpreting data to drive program outcomes. 


· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 

· Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


· Ability to stand less than 1/3 of the time.
