We are a Michigan-based company that buys, sells, and refurbishes medical imaging systems worldwide. We also stand by these products with replacement parts and field service and fill interim needs with mobile imaging systems. Right now, we are accepting applications for the role of Field Service Engineer, working out of Los Angeles, on a full-time basis. 


Ideal Candidate: 

Experienced expert field service engineer primarily on GE CT, GE MRI, and PET/CT, who is able independently handle all service and troubleshooting tasks on GE CT and PET/CT.  This person would also be able to handle PM’s and all “day to day” service tasks and troubleshooting on GE MRI.

Job Description: 

Responsible for providing field service excellence to our medical imaging customers through servicing, installing, inspecting, testing and troubleshooting for medical imaging equipment. 

· Anchor our West Coast Field Service team. 

· Evaluate, inspect, troubleshoot, complete PMs, installations, independently diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and network problems on medical equipment. 

· Calibrate medical imaging systems to OEM specifications. 

· Experience with GE Linux operating system Linux CLI tools that pertain to CT, PET/CT, and MRI. 

· Basic networking, configuring IP v4, troubleshooting networked imaging systems. 

· Troubleshoot and resolve PACS and DICOM issues. 

· Extensive experience with high voltage generators, tubes, cables, tanks. 

· Troubleshoot and repair cooling systems and heat exchangers on CT and MRI. 

· Helium circuits.

· Troubleshoot, replace, commission MRI coils. 

· RF and gradient amplifier troubleshooting and replacement. 

· Provide advanced-level diagnosis and repair of imaging systems. 

· Be available to handle technical support issues and questions from service engineers and salespeople, as well as end-users. 

· Document processes and procedures. 

· Provide excellent customer service and represent Block Imaging well. 

· This position will involve up to 50 percent travel; the flexibility to travel when needed is required. 

· Valid driver’s license and proof of safe driving history.

· Submit to and successfully complete MVR and criminal background check and drug screen. 

· Submit to and pass a medical exam required under Department of Transportation (DOT). Regulations and a written examination if asked to operate rental trucks or fleet vehicles.

· Drivers must comply with on-the-job driver’s safety training if asked to operate rental trucks or fleet vehicles. 

· Must be 21 or older to drive a company vehicle. 

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements 

Education: Associates degree in Electronics Technology or equivalent. 

Experience: 5+ years progressive experience in medical imaging engineering. 


Skills Requirements: 

· Mechanical aptitude 

· Electronics aptitude 

· Computer aptitude 

· Strong familiarity with modality and manufacturer diagnostic tools and procedures. 

· General understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems. 

· Functional understanding of 480 3 phase electricity, system level power distribution, power supplies. 

· MRI Magnet safety

· Attention to detail 

· Follow through 

· Document service calls in company provided tools 

· Good communication skills - listening and speaking 

· Ability to work cooperatively and individually: Self-starter who is able to fill “downtime” in productive ways
