Description

The Keene Family YMCA is seeking a Housekeeping & Maintenance Attendant to join their Facilities team. Full and part-time opportunities are available. In this role you will be responsible for the cleanliness, appearance, and appeal of the YMCA facility. Duties include cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, removing trash, and ensuring that the facility is clean and orderly. Essential Functions of the Housekeeping and Maintenance Attendant

  1. Perform general custodial duties and upkeep of the facility.
  2. Perform routine cleaning of the interior of the building. 
  3. Complete work stated on written checklist daily.
  4. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums floors using cleaning solutions, tools, and equipment.
  5. Gather and empty trash. 
  6. Service, clean, and supply restrooms. 
  7. Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. 
  8. Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment. 
  9. Clean windows and mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees. 
  10. Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. 
  11. Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures. 
  12. Performs the necessary room set-ups for scheduled meetings. 
  13. Notify managers concerning the need for repairs. 
  14. Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals. 
  15. Cleans walkways, parking lots, and steps.
  16. Request supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

Requirements
  1. High school diploma or GED. 
  2. Two years of prior experience in housekeeping/cleaning. 
  3. Basic knowledge of cleaning methods and products.
