Our Medical Assistants will partner with our physicians and other team members on clinical and administrative duties. A great candidate for this role is excited about creating a positive patient experience and ensuring smooth patient flow within the practice.  Training will be provided to help you grow your career at Desert Foot and Ankle!


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greet patients on the phone and in person
  • Place patients in the exam rooms
  • Take vital signs of patients
  • ·Assist and setup up for examination, treatment, and procedures
  • Keep accurate patient files
  • Apply dressing, bandages, and splints as ordered by podiatrist
  • Maintain a sanitized and safe working environment
  • Maintain HIPAA
  • A variety of other clinical and administrative duties as needed


Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Current American Heart Association CPR Certification desirable
  • MA Certification a plus, but not required
  • EMR Experience is helpful, Athena experience is a plus

Requirements

 Job Requirements

  • Candidate must posses X-Ray certificate valid in Arizona
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision
  • Strong computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a wound
  • Strong communication skills and ability to actively listen
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
  • Strong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office duties
  • Customer services skills
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures
  • Spirit of teamwork and drive to help provide the highest standards of patient care
