Located in Caldwell, Idaho Federated Ordinance brings a modern approach to the manufacturing process, safety, and reliability, of the ammunition industry within the United States. Federated Ordinance is dedicated to building on the timeless traditions and history of our shooting and sporting past and making available a modern and lasting source of ammunition and components for the future. As a quality manager you would plan, direct, and coordinate quality assurance programs. You would formulate quality control policies and control quality of laboratory and production efforts.
Looking for someone with metallurgy experience. Ammunition industry experience a plus.
We are looking for an individual who is driven by quality and improving processes. The roll may include but is not limited to;
- Due to the manufacture of ammunition, a qualified candidate must be able to pass a background check containing FBI - NICS information, and a drug screening.
- Stopping production if serious product defects are present.
- Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay abreast of issues in the field of quality control.
- Generate and maintain quality control operating budgets.
- Evaluate new testing and sampling methodologies or technologies to determine usefulness.
- Coordinate the selection and implementation of quality control equipment, such as inspection gauges.
- Collect and analyze production samples to evaluate quality.
- Verify that raw materials, purchased parts or components, in-process samples, and finished products meet established testing and quality standards.
- Review quality documentation necessary for regulatory submissions and inspections.
- Review and update standard operating procedures or quality assurance manuals.
- Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends.
- Participate in the development of product specifications.
- Identify quality problems or areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
- Instruct staff in quality control and analytical procedures.
- Identify critical points in the manufacturing process and specify sampling procedures to be used at these points.
- Document testing procedures, methodologies, or criteria.
- Direct the tracking of defects, test results, or other regularly reported quality control data.
- Create and implement inspection and testing criteria or procedures.
- Communicate quality control information to all relevant organizational departments, outside vendors, or contractors.
- Analyze quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff.
- Oversee workers including quality technicians and inspectors.
Physical Requirements and Requirements
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
Education
- 3 to 5 years' experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing facility - Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quality or similar field - Preferred
- Prior experience managing associates in a manufacturing facility - Preferred
- Appropriate work experience in a related field can be substituted for formal education
- Looking for someone with metallurgy experience. Ammunition industry experience a plus.
