Special Education Paraprofessional (KA)
Description

Paraprofessionals provide assistance and support to the classroom teacher in implementing the therapeutic treatment program.  . Krejci Academy is a preK-12th grade day school serving children on the Autism spectrum.  Must be able to respond to individual behavior problems in collaboration with other staff which may require sufficient strength, agility and sensory acuity.  Must be able to be alert to individual behavioral emergencies and to effectively implement the procedures of confrontation, avoidance, escape evasion and physical management with students weighing a minimum of 75 pounds in accord with the agency approved Safety Care course.

Positions are 30 hours per week for the academic school year.  Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 2:45pm.  Paraprofessionals are benefits eligible and accrue paid sick time.

Follows a 9 month school calendar with an optional ESY program.



Requirements

Must have or be eligible to obtain Paraprofessional certification or Sub license.  

To be eligible must be at least 19 years of age, High School Diploma or GED and 1 of the following:

  • Passing scores on the ACT WorkKeys assessments
  • 60 semester hours of coursework
  • Associate's degree or higher
