Description

Summary/Objective 
An Operator I is responsible for assisting the Engineer and senior Operators in wireline operations of well logging and perforating services; he/she will assist with pre and post job responsibilities at the facility. He/She must demonstrate the capacity to work in a team environment and follow discrete instructions.

 

Essential Functions

  • Responsive to 24-hour on call status
  • Assist in the assembly of downhole tools (perforating guns, adapters, setting tools, well logging tools, ABRT ETC, CCL Firing Block)
  • Employee must learn how to assemble all wireline and pressure control equipment with the knowledge of each function – assist senior operators
  • Maintains functions and maintenance of the pressure control unit on location prior to, during and following operations per the discretion of senior operators/engineers
  • Learn/Assist with the redress of all tools in the field and shop
  • Assist in trouble shooting tools and equipment
  • Perform duties as required safely, efficiently and according to established standards and guidelines provided by Reach Wireline
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment while assisting in all maintenance procedures of equipment
  • Drives company vehicles: Wireline Trucks, Cranes, Pickup trucks and pulls trailers safely
  • Cleans and maintains company vehicles, tools and equipment to Reach Wireline standards
  • Completes all job-related paperwork, utilized GeoTab for trip logging and vehicle inspection reports as required by Reach
  • Comply with safety policies and regulations as stated in the Reach safety manual and as required by customers
  • Assisting in Pre & Post Job Check and Inventory will be required

 

Required Skills

  • Language Skills – ability to read and interpret documents such as safety manuals, operations instructions and policies/procedures; ability to write reports and simple correspondence and effective communicate/present information to groups of coworkers, customers or employees
  • Advanced Math Skills – ability to apply mathematical concepts such fractions, ratios, percentages and proportions to practical situations
  • Reasoning Skills – Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.  Ability to solve practical problems quickly and efficiently
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Computer/Windows
  • Knowledge of how to use a safety meter

Supervisory Responsibility
Assist in training new operators while on site. There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.

 

Work Environment
The performance of this position will require exposure to wellsite locations, and will require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.

 

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 100+ pounds).

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Employee will be placed on a rotating days off schedule once assigned to a crew.

 

Travel
Travel is primarily local during the on call period, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

 

Required Education, Experience and Certifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • No prior experience is required; however, some experience is preferred

 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Having any of the below is a plus:

  • ATF Employee Possessor of Explosives
  • Class A CDL with Hazmat
  • H2S Certification
  • CNL Radiation Certification
  • PEC Training
  • Hazmat Training
  • Man lift / Forklift Training

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
State and Federal licenses and/or permits as required.
