Attendance and Office Assistant

Ascent Classical Academies is seeking a full-time Attendance and Office Assistant for its growing campus at Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County in Lone Tree, Colorado.


As a member of the front office team, the Attendance Assistant plays a highly visible and important role in the school, communicating frequently with families, and serving as a liaison between students, families, and staff. This position requires superior customer service and data management skills, ensuring that daily attendance is reported accurately in a timely manner. This position is also required to work closely and collaboratively with all campus employees.


The Attendance and Office Assistant is responsible for implementing and continuously improving in the following areas of work:


Attendance

  • Provide accurate reporting for daily attendance activities and update attendance data for required reporting
  • Verify excused and unexcused absences; process and verify student absence information from parents, teachers and others
  • Issue admittance forms to students who are late or returning after an absence
  • Generate a variety of computerized lists and reports related to student attendance data
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties and record-keeping activities at an assigned school site
  • Refer issues or concerns to headmaster or dean concerning school attendance issues

Front Office

  • Initiate and receive telephone calls; screen and route calls as directed
  • Respond to inquiries and provide student attendance and other information to personnel, parents and outside agencies
  • Assist students, staff and visitors in the front office

Ascent Classical Academies is a growing K-12 classical charter school network based in Colorado. Our schools offer an American Classical Education and are affiliated with the Barney Charter School Initiative at Hillsdale College. Ascent Classical Academy Charter Schools currently serve approximately 1,500 students in K-12 campuses located in the Denver and Fort Collins areas of Colorado, with significant expansion planned throughout Colorado and the West. Ascent Classical Academy schools offer a well-rounded liberal arts and classical education grounded in virtue and supporting the ideas and philosophy behind the American Founding.

Desired Start Date: mid-August 2022 (flexible)

Compensation Range and Particulars: $30,000 - $38,000 annually, based on approximately 190 days of work during a school year.  Pay is evenly spread over 12 months.

Schedule and Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Requirements

The Attendance and Office Assistant should meet the following qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent preferred
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Strong communication skills and high level of professionalism
  • Exceptional computer skills, including familiarity with traditional office programs (Microsoft or Google)
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities at one time
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
