The Product Line Manager is responsible for the execution and coordination of product related projects as assigned. You will coordinate with our Creative Department, CAD Engineer and Marketing to ensure timely completion of all projects. This role works with our proprietary brand (On-Stage), a music accessories line with a successful 40-year track record. We are looking for candidates with demonstrated project management abilities in related or similar areas.
o Project manage new and existing products throughout their entire life-cycle
o Collaborate in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development, analysis of market research, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products within the managed lines.
o Initiate Projects in SharePoint and gain approval from Director of Product Development
o Manage Product Lines to optimize profit, ensure marketing, financial and corporate growth objectives.
o Coordinate the direction of new and emerging products with overseas manufacturers
o Collaborate with our China office to ensure that new products meet the schedules and timetables.
o Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities
o Review and approve samples, packaging artwork and sell sheets for assigned product lines.
o Complete administrative tasks, such as updating worksheets, workflow lists, etc. as well as present project status in weekly team meetings with stakeholders
o Evaluate supplier's communications, drawings and product samples to ensure they are consistent with the requested specifications and meet project goals; including quality, cost and appearance
o Align product design and sourcing of products with the supplier's manufacturing abilities or source alternative suppliers
Analysis and Reporting:
o Ensure the performance of Product Lines from conceptual stages through the product life cycle to ensure Budgeting Constraints are followed.
o Collect data related to product line performance, competitiveness, and trends in the marketplace along with assisting in the development of strategies based on research and analysis.
o Review product line performance and outline a plan for either obsolesces or re-design for presentation to the Director of Product Development
o Coordinate the obsolesces of product with purchasing, sales and marketing groups
o Coordinate the re-design of products within FPT along with purchasing, sales and marketing groups
o Manage and maintain the product database for your assigned lines
o Report on Line Performance (Sales) monthly to the Director of Product Development and Management
o Ensure information is complete and accurate for Sales Support to send product builds to customers for new or re-designed products
o Coordinate that all marketing materials are accurate for managed line across all mediums.
o Coordinate increased marketing efforts on lines with lagging Sales
o Coordinate training to the Inside Sale Staff on the managed lines by yourself or the Director of On-Stage
o Coordinate training to the Inside Sales Staff on new product launches by yourself or the Director of On-Stage
o Report on Vendor Performance quarterly of new launched products
o Assist with the coordination with Purchasing, Sales, and Mei Fan that delivery dates are held for new products
o Experience working in Office 365, including SharePoint and Teams
o Excellent project management and organizational skills
o Strong attention to detail
o Strong written and verbal communication
o Ability to track multiple moving parts and handle a high-volume project workload at once
o 3 to 5 years’ experience in a project management role working in a team setting and collaborating with multiple departments
o Music industry experience preferred but not required
Occasional travel might be required to Tradeshows and Customer Visits in order to support the managed lines.
