From your PASSION to ours

The Director, Human Resources (HR) will work closely with the HR teams at 5 of our US cheese plants in the US. They will also serve as HR Business Partner to Supply Chain. They will partner with plant and Distribution Center leadership, guide plant HR teams in employee relations, and recommend programs addressing attraction, retention, and turnover. They will document skill and competency progression, as well as compensation. This role will leverage Shared Services to assist and engage employees. The Director, HR will facilitate employee communication, appraisal, and development processes.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Develop strong relationship with Human Resources (HR), as well as plant and Distribution Center leadership teams. 
  • Guide plant HR teams on employee relation topics, including onboarding, engagement, recognition, performance, development, and investigations.
  • Recommend programs addressing attraction, retention, and turnover; contribute and support during program implementation
  • Drive and challenge Manufacturing talent pipeline
  • Foster a plant environment that is consistent with Company values.
  • Document progressive job titles, skills and rates by Hourly positions then communicate across the plants
  • Document progressive competencies and compensation (base salary + bonus) by Salaried position, reflecting established Salary Structure
  • Leverage Shared Services (benefits, payroll) to assist and engage employees; encourage appreciation for Total Rewards
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Management Control on plant HR KPIs
  • Standardize HR processes and programs across plants where appropriate, while supporting unique approaches to address specific needs and conditions at specific plants.
  • Support Talent Acquisition and Talent Development at the plants and in the Distribution Centers.
  • Facilitate and support employee communication, appraisal, and development processes.
  • Serve as credible sounding board and coach leaders and employees throughout the business.
  • Interface regularly with Corporate HR Team, and, where needed Legal, Compliance, and Safety.
  • Will participate in special projects and working groups on a variety of HR related topics (ex. employee engagement).

From your STORY to ours

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required


  • 8+ years plant HR experience required
  • 8+ years management experience required
  • 3+ years multi-plant experience preferred
  • Experience in food industry preferred

Specialized Knowledge

  • Employee relations expertise, including attraction and retention
  • Knowledge of employment and labor law
  • Labor cost knowledge is preferred 

Skills / Abilities

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize, and analyze
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong business acumen

Professional Certifications

  • SPHR or PHR certification helpful
