 Summary: Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Product Manger’s primary responsibility is to manage the Product Development process from idea through concept into launch. This position is responsible for managing products throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer feedback, defining the product vision and working closely with engineering to deliver winning products. It also includes collaboration with sales, marketing, and customer care to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.



o Identify market needs through competitive analysis, field sales input, and client meetings during field travel, and category analysis relative to “gaps”. 

o Work with Brand Ambassador to gather additional intelligence and market information from field and customers

o Collaborate with R&D, Engineering Teams, and appropriate manufacturing facilities to translate market needs into well thought out products that include meaningful features and benefits.

o Create and execute Project Briefs for all new products and line extensions as it relates to pricing, return on investment for launches, costing, product positioning statements/key selling points, competitive information, and timelines

o Conduct kick-off meetings with Cross-Functional Team, Marketing and Sales to introduce approved concepts and set expectations

o Create a network of outside resources in various market sectors that we can present new ideas and gather feedback on products and ideas

o Review prototypes with key influences in the market place

o Manage outside design consultants

o Keep project brief up to date throughout the development

o Responsible for product check-list and sign-offs from key stakeholders prior to launch

o Manage cross functional team to keep projects on track

o Collaborate with marketing team to translate new products into sales support material encompassing sales brochures and other marketing material collateral.

o Train the field sales force on new products via various means including webinar and video training, and training in the field.

o Develop a template to provide support to the field by providing a one-pager when new competitive information is available 

o Lead and set-up ideation sessions with RSMs and there key end-users (rep groups, A&D firms, etc)

o Manage and update Product Pipelines for both Norix and Tonik 

o Manage Product Categories for new and existing products as they evolve through the lifecycle. Identify extensions for growth, opportunities for mature and drops for aging products. 

o Update Norix and Tonik lifecycle reports twice a year and present findings

o Review margin reports and product profitability with recommendations on increases and make recommendations when/why products should be dropped based on sales history data

o Send “product update memo” to internal staff to make them aware of adds, drops and changes as needed

o Explore opportunities with outside vendors to enhance and optimize product

o Prepare and conduct presentations at sales meeting 

o Travel as needed

o Other duties as assigned


 Required Skills/Abilities:

o Strong understanding of the product Development process

o Ability to conduct initial research with customers and end-users and use those learnings to drive the product development process from concept through launch

o Self-motivated with good time management skills so projects are completed on time

o Proficient in Microsoft Office 

o Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate up, down, and across the organization 

o Organized and analytical, and strong attention to detail

o Ability to adjust to shifting priorities, demands and timelines promptly and efficiently

o Action-oriented with a strong attention to detail

o Must be able to lead cross functional teams and handle multiple projects and deadlines

o Stay focused on priorities and drive for results

o Strong organizational skills and can handle several projects simultaneously

o Improve processes, products, and services


o Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or Design

o 5+ years working experience in leading product management efforts in a manufacturing environment. Contract furniture industry experience preferred.
