The Senior Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing plant facilities, equipment, controls, and maintenance resources. The role maintains and improves process equipment and the overall facility.  


  • Ensure maximum performance of all production operations and facility services
  • Maintain and direct a comprehensive and effective preventative maintenance program 
  • Reduce equipment downtime 
  • Effectively and efficiently monitor work assignments, progress tracking, and accurate and timely reporting
  • Design and manage equipment upgrade and new installations
  • Support production, engineering, and development by attending and participating in meetings
  • Ensure safe work environment for all employees
  • Ensure maintenance employees are trained and working in a safe manner
  • Identify areas requiring improvement related to maintenance processes, equipment, and facility services
  • Work on plant equipment to improve electronic controls and PLC programming 
  • Provide updates to mechanical, wiring and ladder logic drawings and documentation packages as changes and upgrades are introduced 
  • Install, program, and repair robots and related equipment, such as programmable controllers, end-of-arm tools, and conveyors
  • Suggest methods to improve workflow and increase production. 
  • Assure technical and safety compliance 
  • Troubleshoot to determine the root cause of equipment and process problems
  • Train, mentor, and coach the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Upgrade equipment and control systems including mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, or electrical upgrades
  • Manage maintenance and new install related projects
  • Install and program PLC's with operator interfaces
  • Ensure an effective and efficient repair order ticketing is in place and maintained
  • Manage other maintenance related project work
  • Assist with the selection, training, discipline, and performance evaluation of maintenance employees
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure maintenance related expectations are met
  • Effectively manage maintenance department costs and budget

Additional Duties:

  • Special projects as required
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 10+ years of maintenance work experience
  • 5 years of maintenance supervisory experience
  • Working knowledge of PLC programming 
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Very good communication skills in writing and orally
  • Strong organizational skills with a sense of urgency
  • Leadership capabilities
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor others
  • Excellent troubleshooting and mechanical capability

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Allen Bradley PLC programming knowledge
  • Robotics experience preferred 
  • Manufacturing maintenance experience

Working Conditions:

  • A variety of temperatures and humidity
  • Dusty and dirty work areas
  • Work is performed both in a building and outside with exposure to the elements
  • Occasional work in the office at a desk working on a computer

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, reaching, and bending
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to grasp, pull, and turn
  • Must be able to push, pull, and lift 40 pounds frequently
