Description

Summary:

The Sports Information Assistant works with the Sports Information Director in the coverage and promotion of the Wolves intercollegiate athletic teams at Keuka College. The successful candidate will work in a variety of positions, including statistical input and calling, video operations, photography, office work, and research. The successful candidate will be expected to work a majority of the home athletic contests, although accommodations can be made.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Compile statistics and produce programs for NCAA games. 
  • Work without direct supervision on occasion.
  • Assist the Sports Information Director with all aspects of maintaining the department, including but not limited to, writing, statistical input, photography, and videography of home intercollegiate athletic contests.
  • Aid in digital design assets including but not limited to social media posts, graphic design, and creative video editing.
  • Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
  • Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
  • Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.
  • Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by management.


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Eligible for a Federal work-study award or a Keuka work-study award.
  2. A Keuka College student in the traditional undergraduate on-campus program.
  3. Previous experience with college athletics and the field of communications/journalism a major plus. 
  4. Must have at least a general understanding of sports as well as the rules and statistics.
  5. Any previous experience with the Adobe suite, desktop publishing, photography or video is a plus.
  6. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  7. Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.  
  8. Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff and the public.
  9. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.


Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Weekend and evening hours required.
  • May be required to work in inclement weather on occasion.


Salary Description
$14.20 / hour
