Girl Scouts of Western Washington is looking for an AmeriCorps Program Manager. Girl Scouts of Western Washington (GSWW) is hiring a Program Manager responsible for managing an AmeriCorps program created to support membership growth and retention in our communities. This grant funded position is responsible for the daily management of AmeriCorps members working within the council; including supporting and coaching AmeriCorps members, performance monitoring, training and schedule coordination, supervisor training, and management of service hours. 


This position will work with AmeriCorps and Serve WA staff to ensure all AmeriCorps team members have the tools and resources needed to implement high-focused membership initiatives. This position will ensure grant requirements are met in collaboration with senior level council staff and will work closely with GSWW HR to support recruitment, onboarding, and exit interviews for AmeriCorps Members.  

The AmeriCorps Members this role manages will be a key part of GSWW’s membership recruitment and retention plan, focused on creating youth membership opportunities within areas underserved by the council with an emphasis on increasing council diversity. This position will work collaboratively with other departments to provide AmeriCorps Member support that will expand youth and adult membership by engaging community organizations, businesses, and individuals to support GSWW through volunteerism and advocacy.  

This is a regular, full-time, remote position in Washington State with a requirement to being or becoming a WA resident.

  • Responsible for daily operations of the AmeriCorps program and AmeriCorps Member management. 
  • Support AmeriCorps member recruitment initiatives across council, including but not limited to vetting departmental requests for service member support, attending events, interviewing and selecting service members  
  • Oversee program logistics and implementation in order to best train and help AmeriCorp Members to be successful.  
  • Planning, coordination, and execution of AmeriCorp Member training, identity in AmeriCorps and engagement  
  • Educate AmeriCorps members on GSWW mission, goals, policies and procedures.  
  • Participate in the planning, selection and activities service members will participate in across the council 
  • Manage cross-team lead cross-team collaborations to identify organizational needs. 
  • Track, manage and approve member hours both in person and teleservice and provide updates to members and Program management staff to be in compliance with AmeriCorps and Serve Washington requirements. 
  • Validate service working hours with HR and Accounting departments. Understand and be knowledgeable about all AmeriCorps guidelines related to the team member experience Assist with maintaining multiple program databases, including but not limited to data entry, reporting and updating information within the database. 
  • Monitor member performance and provide supervisor coaching if challenges arise 
  • Provide leadership to site supervisors 
  • Conduct frequent site visits to ensure alignment with desired site-specific outcomes  
  • Answer programmatic calls and address issues with site supervisors and members as needed.  


  • Experience working in or with youth-serving organizations.  
  • Experience leading a team; ability to develop and operationalize community-based strategies. 
  • Experience in community organizing and organizing models preferred. 


  • Bilingual/bicultural in languages and/or cultures with significant presence in western Washington preferred.  
  • Experience working with at risk youth in a marliginized community of color. 


  • Can prioritize simultaneous deadlines, take initiative independently and keep confidentiality 
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to ensure effective interactions with individuals at all levels and backgrounds across a wide geographic area. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Proficient in O365 and other business systems 
  • Access to consistent reliable transportation.  
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license and ability to fulfill timely and extensive travel requirements across western Washington and nationally as needed    
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to seasonal increases in work volume  
  • Demonstrated commitment to support efforts to enhance the cultural competence and global awareness of Girl Scouts, volunteers, and employees. 
  • Knowledge of Girl Scout program helpful but not required. 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds with or without accommodation.  
  • Satisfactory results from criminal background search. 
  • Willingness to maintain membership in Girl Scouts.
