The Opportunity

If you enjoy creating content AND planning events, this is your perfect opportunity! BDS is searching for a dual threat. Are you a creative writer always looking for new ways to tell a story and make a brand stand out but also loves project management and creating amazing corporate events? 

We seek a self-motivated, creative marketing professional who can develop and execute content strategies for external and internal initiatives while managing 2 – 3 internal corporate events per year. This is a new position with an anticipated responsibility breakdown of 70% content marketing and 30% event management. Your primary responsibility will be creating and editing powerful content that supports marketing, sales, product expansion, customer experience, employee recruiting and engagement, and managing the BDS social media channels. The secondary responsibility of this position is creating fun and engaging corporate events for our BDS family. Successful candidates will be creative and detail-oriented with a "get things done" professional attitude. Content marketing time allocation should be: 75% spent on copywriting and copy editing, with 25% on strategy and project management. Your Impact at BDS

  • Strategize, develop, execute and copy edit/proof both short and long format content for external and internal facing material inclusive of social media, blog articles, knowledge base articles, product and services, press releases, pitch decks, sell sheets, ad campaigns, email communications, website copy, employee newsletters and more
  • Organic social media management and content calendar generation for BDS social channels - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn
  • Optimize SEO best practices for all public facing content
  • Research content and industry trends to ensure that content is relevant and appealing
  • Proofreading and editing content before publishing
  • Manage tone and voice of the BDS brand, ensuring that content remains consistent across all platforms, channels, and campaigns
  • Work within the Marketing and Communications department to scope and define projects, prepare timelines, prioritize tasks, monitor progress, and communicate progress to stakeholders
  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments and align various department requests to overall business strategy and priorities
  • Gather and communicate customer and employee success stories/best practices internally and externally
  • Bring creative ideas to the table on how to message and position our brand by buyer persona
  • Analyze campaign engagement and performance metrics to gauge success and optimize initiatives
  • Serve as the key project manager for corporate events and meetings. Executes event logistics, works collaboratively with management and key stakeholders, and assures key event objectives are met
  • Manages expectations, timelines, and logistics, and communicates project deliverables
  • Defines, tracks, and maintains budgets. Ensures cost-saving measures where appropriate and spending is within the allocated amount
  • Develops and maintains strong vendor and customer relationships, both internal and external, serving as primary liaison between customers, vendors, and BDS programs
  • Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives
  • Helps build and maintain a positive team culture
  • Coordinates employee travel
Requirements

 What You’ll Need to be Successful

  • Requires bachelor's degree and at least 2 - 3 years of experience in content creation, copy editing, marketing, communications, or similar
  • Experience with social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube
  • Excellent computer skills, with strong experience using Microsoft 365 and HubSpot (or similar marketing automation platform)
  • Strong understanding of digital content practices such as SEO, keyword optimization, paid social media, and PPC ad strategy a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with little oversight
  • Organized and detail-oriented, capable of prioritizing and multitasking
  • Excellent project management and organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
  • Ability to think strategically and resourcefully and to move projects to completion
  • Highly adaptable, flexible, and willing to accept new ideas, processes, and procedures
  • Experience working as part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment
