Basic Function:

The Brand Director is responsible for creating and executing the strategic annual marketing plan based on international marketing perspectives and data, including channel, trade, consumer, and category trends, overseeing annual marketing budgets for the internal hospitality experience at all Journeyman locations and for external distribution. 


The Brand Director will oversee all opportunities for expansion and partnership that cultivate brand development, exposure, and loyalty—with an assurance that the plans result in achieving financial objectives. This role works closely with ownership, internal departments, influencers, agencies, and trade partners to build Journeyman into a profitable and highly recognized global brand.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 

  • Communicate and reinforce key brand priorities with all markets. 
  • Manage all brand, marketing, and product refreshers. 
  • Lead Marketing and Sales in the development and execution of strategic global brand-building plans including yearly activity calendars and budgets. 
  • Ensure activation aligns with activity calendar and strategic brand priorities. 
  • Ensure alignment in channel strategies and SKU prioritization. 
  • Execute collaborations and partnerships with like-minded brands that further the Journeyman mission and help achieve financial and branding goals. 
  • Play a critical role in growing Journeyman domestically and internationally, consistent with the company’s overall strategy.

Requirements

 

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND VISUAL SKILLS: 

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills. 
  • Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions independently and be self-motivated. 
  • Ability to use logical or rational thinking to solve problems. 
  • Attention to detail and working knowledge of managing to an approved budget. 
  • Ability to perform light physical work; may be required to lift up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, up to ten pounds frequently and up to five pounds constantly, performing such activities as bending stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping for up to five hours without sitting.  

REQUIRED WORK HABITS: 

  • Work habits include regular attendance, teamwork, initiative, dependability, and promptness. 
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to include some weekend days.  

EDUCATIONAL, DEVELOPMENT AND WORK-RELATED EXPERIENCE: 

  • B.A. in Marketing, Business, or relevant field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of national marketing experience. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of national brand management experience. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of hospitality experience. 
  • Minimum of 3 year of retail experience. 
  • Proven success in brand-building, development, and growth in the spirits field. 
  • Budgeting, planning, and/or financial analysis experience. 
  • Familiarity with an Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) is a plus. 
  • Working knowledge of market research techniques and databases. 
  • Prior experience with MS Office, Adobe Suite, SEO, and project management software. 
  • Proficient in Word, Power Point, Outlook, Excel, and Teams. 
  • Knowledge of general business administration practices and procedures. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Works in an administrative business office.   
  • Potential exposure to equipment movement hazards and repetitive motion syndromes if proper safety procedures are not followed. 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Must be 21 years of age or older  
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
