Registered Nurse Residency - Monthly Incentive Opportunities!
Job Type
Full-time
Description

RNs that work at Shodair are entering into a very specific specialty for not only psychiatric nursing, but also child and adolescents. Throughout the course of the yearlong residency program, our new graduate nurses will receive a mixture of online learning, classroom based learning, and clinical orientation. This program is designed to support the new graduate RNs in both transitioning from the role of a student nurse to an RN as well as becoming a child and adolescent psychiatric nurse. Currently, new graduate nurses, will have received most if not all of their student nurse training in the COVID pandemic healthcare world. Many clinical experiences, as well as classroom learning, have been adapted to adjust to the ever-changing challenges facing healthcare facilities. For many schools, this has resulted in less in-person clinical hours, and less 1:1 instruction time for students. While this is not the only reason we have developed a residency program, it is certainly a contributing factor to why having a residency program is so important.

This residency program will continue the learning of the new graduate nurse, while narrowing it down to the child an adolescent psychiatric nurse specialty. This will help our new graduate nurses to learn and grow in a supportive, cohort model that will enable Shodair to continue to meet our mission “to heal, help, and inspire hope.”

Space is limited for this program. Contact us at HumanResouces@Shodair.org for more information.
