more grid capacity for renewable energy. We provide utilities with our patented, non-contact

sensors for the real-time monitoring and predictive analytics they need to accelerate the path

to a net zero grid.


The Hardware Engineering team has an immediate need for an Automated Test Engineer to

develop and maintain tools to support manufacturing of our grid monitoring sensors as we roll

out new products and increase volumes.


The Automated Test Engineer will be an integral member of LineVision’s Engineering team and

will be involved in all aspects of our products, to ensure the highest quality in our new

products, and improve quality in our existing products.

This position will report to the Hardware Engineering Manager and work closely with the

Hardware Engineering, R+D, Quality/Manufacturing and Operations teams.


What will you do?

You will work within the hardware engineering team to support day-to-day operations in the lab, identify and resolve issues with electromechanical assemblies, and assist with engineering validation efforts for next generation sensor systems.

  • Within a Month:
    • Learn how our products work, and about transmission line monitoring technologies in general.
    • Look under the cover and get familiar with our hardware, code, and processes.
    • Accelerate time to market by contributing to benchtop verification and validation testing
    • Coordinate automated testing, firmware provisioning, and burn-in testing with our Contract Manufacturers.
    • Become a liaison between the Engineering and Operations teams to ensure product quality, oversee in-house testing.
  • Within Three Months:
    • Design new test fixturing and automated test suite software for products transitioning to manufacturing and implement them at our manufacturers.
    • Develop a new tool for testing and characterizing optical sensors, thereby identifying issues early in the manufacturing process.
    • Identify and solve issues with our current quality control system.
    • Assist in the design and implementation of testing of our new sensor platform
    • Assist with certification and compliance testing of new products.
  • Within a Year and Beyond, You'll
    • Develop tools to increase manufacturing test coverage based on design updates as well as feedback from QC and Operations.
    • Reduce per-device production time and as we scale manufacturing quantities by automating test, programming, and burn-in and burning tools.
    • Work with our Software and Data Analytics teams to architect cloud-based services to support our future production needs.
    • Increase maturity level of existing test/programming fixtures for higher reliability, security, and ease of use.
    • Design experiments to validate and characterize new LiDAR and computer vision technologies.


Desired skills to succeed in this role are…

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field
  • Experience working on interdisciplinary teams
  • Electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMM, function generators, logic analyzers, data loggers, and other test equipment
  • Custom Printed Circuit Board using tools such as Altium Designer, Eagle
  • Communication protocols such as Ethernet, I2C, SPI, Cellular
  • Comfortable designing parts and assemblies in mechanical CAD tools (Solidworks, Autodesk)
  • Python programming and common libraries.
  • Web-based development using TypeScript or JavaScript
  • Serverless cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google
  • Willing to travel occasionally
