Agronomy Applicator & Truck Driver





Summary

Performs custom application and other functions that may include maintenance of equipment, plant, rolling stock, operation of forklifts, loaders, operating tender trucks, filling NH3 tanks, loading customers' vehicles with product, unloading of deliveries and other duties as required.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Precisely blends and custom applies fertilizers and agricultural chemicals based on recommendations and label directions.
  • Performs the job safely and in compliance with environmental regulations and Superior Ag’s guidelines.
  • Maintains facility and equipment so that they have a good appearance and are always in working order.
  • Performs mechanic work on assigned vehicles.
  • Completes applicator logs and reports.
  • Keeps the Location Manager informed of product inventory levels that could restrict application or delivery schedules
  • Keeps facility, equipment, and application records as required
  • Loads and unloads inbound and outbound inventory.
  • Promotes the business with existing and potential customers.
  • Be responsible for timely delivery of products to local destinations.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a CDL license with all necessary endorsements.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and prudent manner. 
  • Drivers will adhere to the rules and laws established by local, state, and federal agencies.  Any moving traffic violations and fines will be the driver’s responsibility.
  • Help and Train Seasonal Employees.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills:  Ability to read and speak English in order to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.




Mathematical Skills:  Basic math skills needed.

Reasoning:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: SAR will assist employee in obtaining the CDL, applicator’s license, and technician registration.
