Actively hiring for May 2025

  • Must be a current student at Kansas State University 
  • Ability to commit at least twelve (12) hours per week during the school year
  • Students are eligible to work up to 40 hours/week during the summer


This role works directly with all members of the investment team, including the AVP of Investments, to support all functions of managing the University’s endowment. In addition to collaborating with the investment team, the Investment Assistant will complete special projects relevant to financial markets. Learn more about our investment team here!

A day in the life of an Investment Assistant Student could be:

  1. Utilize various investment software (MS Office, eVestment, Bloomberg) and spreadsheets to assist in monitoring investment manager compliance and performance.
  2. Maintain various database software and spreadsheets to assist in monitoring investment manager compliance and performance. Generate reports as requested.
  3. Create Standard Operating Procedures for the investment department.
  4. Assist investment team in writing formal research on investment managers.
  5.  Prepare for and attend investment manager meetings as requested. Learn about various institutional investment strategies through interviews and interactions with investment managers. 
  6. Maintain investment manager imaging system


Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent and currently enrolled at Kansas State University
  • Interest in investments and financial markets
  • Requires a good understanding of finance and accounting methods
  • Should demonstrate ability to work with numbers while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be able to work under time constraints
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Confidentiality imperative
  • A valid motor vehicle operator’s license and acceptable driving record required


What we want:

  • Commitment and passion for investments and financial markets
  • Possess good knowledge of spreadsheet and database applications, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Previous internship experience is a plus
  • Engaged member of Student Finance Association (SFA) preferred
  • Preference will be given to individuals pursuing a degree in the following majors: Finance, Accounting, Math, Engineering, and Financial Planning
  • Summer work availability
