Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Receiving Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be the critical first point of contact for incoming shipments, playing a key role in inventory management and ensuring the smooth operations of our supply chain. Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Verify and record incoming by comparing purchase orders with invoices and packaging lists. 
  • Receives goods and verifies the quality and count of all items unloaded from trucks and/or trailers, checks against supplier's count and immediately report discrepancies to carrier's supervisor and purchasing officer per company policy.
  • Organize and maintain the receiving areas, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Sort, label and store received items in the proper locations within the warehouse or storage areas.
  • Coordinator with procurement and inventory teams to reconcile shipment quantities and monitor stock levels. 
  • Assist inventory audits and cycle counting to ensure accuracy in the stock levels.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure materials are received in a timely manner and to resolve any receiving or inventory areas.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks.
  • Notify supervisor of major discrepancies over-shipments, and/or substitutions.
  • Separate inventory into various sizes.
  • Disassemble containers and crates, pack inventory to be shipped and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions.
  • Ensure proper documentation of incoming and outgoing inventory.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the warehouse supervisor. 
Requirements
  • Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received. 
  • Basic understanding of warehouse procedures
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a team.
  • Strong desire to learn.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite and/or Inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
  • Basic math skills for counting and recording inventory.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One year working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience in a warehouse or receiving role.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
  • Ability to operate forklift and other warehouse equipment to move and store products safely.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate the loading and unloading of materials, which may include access to a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, reaching, climbing, bending, and standing.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy items, up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in a warehouse. 
  • Must be able to pass a physical exam, drug, and alcohol test.
