Summary:

The Club at the J provides after school care for students K-8th grade. This is a part time position.


Duties include:

  • Provide quality customer service at all times.
  • Recognize and respond to opportunities for problem solving.
  • Guide group/individual children to participate successfully in all aspects of offered activities.
  • Assist in teaching or leading activities as needed or as assigned.
  • Observe children's behavior, assess its appropriateness, enforce appropriate safety regulations and emergency procedures; apply appropriate behavior management techniques.
  • Attend all staff meetings as required.
  • Assist in enriching programming during snow days and when school is out.
  • Maintain good attendance and have reliable transportation.
  • Follow all J rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; Current college student or graduate in related field desired.
  • Previous camp or childcare experience essential.
  • Must have auditory, visual, ambulatory, cognitive, communications and physical ability to complete major tasks in program.
  • Ability to relate to and communicate with ones peer group, parents, as well as to child's age and skill levels.
  • Ability to accept guidance and supervision.
  • Ability to assist in teaching an activity.
  • Ability to assist children in emergency situations; including fire, evacuation, illness or injury.
  • Should posses good character, integrity and adaptability.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience and self control in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to both morning and afternoon hours is preferred.
  • Past Judaic experiences are a plus.
