Ascent Classical Academy of Douglas County seeks additional Teaching Assistants for grades K-6 for the 2022-2023 school year. Successful candidates will gain valuable classical classroom experience while having the joy of supporting and working closely with a teacher in his/her assigned grade level(s). Successful candidates are coachable, highly organized, disciplined, and motivated. They will support teachers in their routine administrative duties while learning how to manage a classroom, reinforce instruction, prepare materials and equipment, supervise students and substitute teach.
Teaching Assistants are responsible for modeling, implementing, and continuously improving in the following areas:
- Contribute to the moral and intellectual environment of the school
- Understand and adhere to the principles of classical education
- Communicate verbally and in writing clearly, precisely and grammatically
- Assist the teacher in requiring students to be respectful, attentive and participatory
- Be sensitive to problems as they are developing and intervene immediately
- Develop the intellect and personal character of each student to the utmost of his or her ability
- Adherence to all ACA policies, including but not limited to the Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school policies
- Punctuality and attendance
- Initiative and effort
- Professionalism in appearance and speech
- Cheerful attendance to other duties as assigned by the teacher or administration

Compensation: $17.70 per hour
Schedule and Classification: Full-Time (30 or more hours per week) or Part-Time (8-29 hours per week); Hourly; Non-Exempt
