When not in surgery you will be working with the shelter veterinarians to help treat shelter pets.

We are committed to upholding an open admissions policy for stray pets, while maintaining an extensive adoption program, a low euthanasia rate, and excellence in all of our services. 

What is the opportunity?

KHS’s Lead LVT will work in collaboration with the Veterinary Operations Manager, Director of Shelter Medicine, veterinarians, staff and volunteers to provide high quality shelter medicine, surgery, treatment and care for KHS shelter animals. Technician responsibilities will include all aspects of surgery and recovery, examinations of shelter and foster animals, medical treatments, laboratory work and radiography. The position will also involve working closely with our veterinary assistants and volunteers in order to provide mentorship, training, and care for the animals. Our LVT must be efficient at time management and able to thrive in a high volume, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

We are looking for an LVT who thrives in a fast paced environment and has HQHVSN experience. We have a fabulous team and we are looking to add someone who is looking for a work family. Kitsap Humane prides itself in offering high quality care for any animal in need. We are working on providing access to care for our community neighbors who cannot afford veterinary care. We practice mindfulness at all staff meetings and work life balance is very important to us. What makes this job so awesome?

• 40 hrs/week, full-time position, weekend/holiday work required

• $29 an hour 

• Medical/dental/life/vision insurance coverage available 1st of the month after date of employment

• Vacation leave available upon completion of 120-day introductory period
