Job Summary for Laser Combo Operator:
The Turret / Laser combo machine operator safely performs Turret / laser process operations for a variety of organizational manufacturing needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities for Laser Combo Operator:
- Performs typical Turret / laser functions of sheet metal through automated Turret / laser Combo machine.
- Receive work orders and jobs from Dimar Planning group, using production schedule software, and other planning tools, process jobs efficiently and effectively to meet customer deliveries.
- Set-up machine and run job based on recommended settings from Turret / laser combo manufacturer or internal engineering specs.
- Review and maintain raw materials (sheet steel) needed to process orders, retrieve and load Turret/ laser combo.
- Load proper programs into machine verify proper rev, job numbers and quantities for every job.
- Inspect jobs against drawing ensuring part meets print. Inspect parts for proper cuts and cut quality of both laser and turret.
- Unload, sort and palletize jobs as needed to ensuring quantities and job folders are correct and with every job.
- Perform hour-based maintenance specific to Turret / laser combo functions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Laser Combo Operator:
· Knowledge of fabricated sheet metal manufacturing
· Knowledge of different types of metals (Aluminum, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, etc.)
· Expert ability to read engineering blueprints
· Knowledge of assist gasses used in laser processing (oxygen, N2, etc.)
· Knowledge of CAD- Solid works and strong computer skills
· Excellent organizational skills
Experience and Education for Laser Combo Operator:
· 3 - 5 years previous leadership experience in a “Job Shop”
· 3 - 5 years’ experience in CNC Programming, Machine operation, or turret / laser combo operation
· 2- or 4-year degree or technical schooling in manufacturing fields or 5-10 years of proven increased responsibility in the area of CNC programming/ manufacturing.
Special Requirements for Laser Combo Operator:
- Metal fabrication work environment; dust, grease and metal common
- Requires the use of the following personal protective equipment when on the shop floor:
- Safety glasses, steel toed shoes/boots.
- Must be able to:
- Work safely in a fast-paced environment
- Work overtime, including weekends as requested.
