Ascent Classical Academy of Northern Colorado seeks an upper school teacher math teacher for its K-12 campus in the Fort Collins area.  Ascent Classical Academies are dedicated to the intellectual and moral betterment of students and encourage teachers to take their own moral and intellectual improvement seriously as part of a supportive and excellence-driven culture. At Ascent Classical Academy charter schools, well-educated and articulate faculty utilize explicit instruction to convey real knowledge to students using traditional teaching methods. Teachers enjoy a wide array of resources as they create their own lessons within the content-rich curriculum to engage students in a positive and virtue-imbued learning experience in the liberal arts, including support from in-network classical schools and the Barney Charter School Initiative.


The discipline of mathematics strips away all subjectivity regarding reality. Through the study of mathematics, the learner confronts the abstract and must engage in the uniquely human capacity for purely rational thought. Logic and reason in every discipline owe their structure to mathematical principles. In discovering and mastering these principles, the learner’s mind is shaped into a powerful tool of reason. Robust training in mathematics prepares the student to test possible truths against established principles, and even discover new truths by building on the work of those who have come before.  

This position will cover Algebra I, Algebra II, and Euclidean Geometry.

Desired Start Date:  late January or by February 1, 2023

Compensation Range and Particulars: $43,000 to $55,000 annually depending on class load  

Schedule and Classification: Full-Time Exempt

  • Bachelor's degree or higher 
  • For co-curricular subjects, at least 36 hours of higher education credit in the subject area of instruction (alternatively, a passing grade in a content exam) 
  • Eligibility to work in the United States 
  • After offer is accepted, satisfactory background check as required by state law and Colorado Department of Education
