Reporting to the Accounting Manager, NFW presents the opportunity to lead Accounts Payable, and will oversee all aspects of accounts payable for the Company. 


The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent organization, prioritization, and communication skills. A strong attention to detail, the ability to meet deadlines consistently, and to work well under pressure is a must. Further, the candidate must have an eye for improving the control environment of the Company by creating and/or adhering to AP processes that aid in the overall success of the finance organization. The position is in Peoria, IL, and can be Hybrid.  


Responsibilities:

  • Handle day-to-day processing of accounts payable
  • Ensure adherence and maintenance of corporate policies, procedures, and controls, including, but not limited to, ensuring invoices were properly authorized and supporting documentation was received
  • Act as point of escalation and work to identify, track, document, and resolve errors, issues and risks proactively with timely further escalation of unresolved items to senior management
  • Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous process improvement to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Develop and own the accounts payable strategy, roadmap, and operational plan
  • Ensures accounts payable documentation is uploaded and maintained in the ERP
  • Assists with year-end audit, including providing key schedules and documents to external auditors
  • Maintain key documents (i.e. accounts payable schedules) and ensure data is transferred to key systems
  • On a monthly basis, reconciles accounts payable to the general ledger and prepares reconciliations on a timely basis
  • Project lead for accounts payable-related ad hoc projects, including continuous development of processes that are scalable and support the company's growth


Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Business and/or equivalent experience. 
  • Must have the highest level of integrity
  • Minimum four (4) years of progressive accounts payable and accounting experience, including the preparation of journal entries
  • Motivated and able to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong problem solving, PC technical skills, project management, and organizational skills
  • Strong organizational skills & attention to detail and highly motivated/proactive
  • Tolerate and embrace ambiguity and change in a rapidly growing company
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to deal with high volume transactions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Special Skills:

  • Experience with GSS a plus
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel (e.g. pivot tables, vlookups, etc.) and Word
  • Attention to detail and focus on accuracy is a must
  • Experience in a rapidly growing and changing company
  • Established track record of process improvement
