As LineVision’s Regulatory & Policy Manager, you will be a key member of LineVision’s team, reporting to the Sr. Director of Regulatory & Governmental Affairs. You will be responsible for ensuring we successfully navigate the complex regulatory and policy landscape associated with electric transmission. You’ll work closely with the Commercial and Product organizations to ensure our offerings are well positioned for growth so we can deliver on our mission of accelerating the net zero grid. 

What will you do?

You will be responsible for managing a variety of research, regulatory, and strategic analysis projects, particularly at a state and regional market level. You will have responsibility for understanding and influencing the regulatory and market landscape under which our electric utility customers operate while advocating for changes that will increase the adoption of LineVision’s technology. You will also map out, and look to participate in, the relevant committees and stakeholder groups within the various RTOs/ISOs to determine topics of interest for LineVision and our work to operationalize Dynamic Line Ratings (DLR). 

State Engagement

  • Monitor relevant proceedings and state energy plans in states of strategic importance 
  • Research utility planning/investestment proposals (i.e. Integrated Resource Plans) to identify planned transmission investment 
  • With ongoing implementation of the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, monitor state opportunities for funding announcements and partnerships, serve a primary liaison to state- based organizations such as NASEO and state Public Utility Commissions (PUCs) 

Wholesale Markets 

  • Map out relevant working groups and stakeholder processes among the RTOs/ISOs with a particular focus on Ambient Adjusted Line Ratings and Order 881, Dynamic Line Ratings, generation interconnection, and cyber security issues 
  • Build relationships with new and existing key technical and strategic leaders at each RTO/ISO

Resilience Initiatives

  • Lead research on federal/state resilience initiatives
  • Research state requirements for wildfire mitigation reporting/plans
  • Coordinate with LineVision Product team on wildfire product development
  • Monitor resilience initiatives at DOE National Labs

Strategic Initiatives:

  • Monitor and identify opportunities tied to new transmission line construction and offshore wind - help create strategy for how to present LineVision for new construction, reconductoring, and OSW projects
  • Coordinate participation and represent LineVision in various OSW planning and study processes at a state/federal level 

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Industry knowledge of the state regulatory process and wholesale electricity markets; understanding of utility rate case planning and process preferred. 
  • Experience in developing briefings and summarizing complex policy issues, tracking

dockets, and crafting company responses

  • Experience with the procedural mechanisms and working groups at ISO/RTOs
  • Experience in building outreach programs, managing stakeholder relations
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently apply rigorous attention to detail, work ethic,

professional integrity, and excellent communication and organizational skills
