About the Role:
As a CRI Ancillary Curator, you will consult internally with the CRI team and externally with architects, designers and clients on creative product recommendations that meet project parameters. You will develop, manage, and track product specifications, generate a high quality of design deliverables and convincingly present recommendations amongst other responsibilities.
CRI is in San Francisco. This position is hybrid, but there would be an expectation to be in San Francisco a minimum of 3 days a week to be successful in this role.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Provide ancillary furniture solutions to meet project budget, schedule, and design aesthetics
- Work with the CRI design department to ensure the suggested products fit and scale supports the design intentions; and they are documented on CAD drawings
- Generate presentation packages with detailed furniture specifications and images
- Support and work with Architect & Design firms to present CRI’s capabilities to clients and provide curation services
- Work with the CRI Sales and PM teams on presentations to assure A&D needs are considered
- Support Project Management team members in budget pricing and specification guidance as appropriate
- Maintain and track project documentation, vendor communications, specification decisions, client approvals, and attend all project meetings as necessary
- Maintain vendor relationships and stay current on product updates, discontinuations, trends and new releases, as well as visit local showrooms and meet with local reps
- Participate in the education of CRI employees on ancillary product trends and applications, new products and vendors, and share findings with the ancillary department in monthly meetings and during learning sessions a few times a year
- Represent CRI as a brand ambassador during industry events and meetings
- Must be extremely organized and detail oriented
- Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, including public speaking
- At least 3 years of experience in interior design and/or within a contract furniture dealer, consultancy, or adjacent organization
- Bachelor’s Degree in interior design, architecture, dealer work experience, or related field, preferred
- Knowledgeable in ancillary furniture product, specification process, sourcing ancillary furniture; proficient in requesting product quotes, discounting, and pricing practices, as well as budgeting skills
- Understanding of the principles of interior design and experience with custom furniture design and fabric/finish selection.
- Has a creative eye and passion for furniture and interior design
- Demonstrates initiative at work, able to work independently as well as within a collaborative environment
- Committed professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in business transactions, and to providing the highest level of customer satisfaction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of design software include AutoCAD, Sketchup and 3D Modeling Tools
