Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description: Capital Group is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support our FAA client. The Senior Systems Administrator candidate will provide a broad range of system engineering & administration, technical, analytical, testing and operations support of the FAA. Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Administrating the full Linux enterprise (RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Ubuntu, others) to facilitate technology enhancements, system refresh, on-going security assessment support and Linux SME support of remediation, and direct support to technical management and leadership in program objectives
- Performing on-going performance tuning, hardware and software upgrades, and resource optimization leveraging a detailed knowledge of Linux fundamentals, including bash/shell scripting, patching, and security hardening.
- Providing both on-site and remote support based on the client's needs. On-call support requested as-needed for critical off-hours projects
- Installing, configuring, patching, monitoring and maintaining all Linux systems hardware and software infrastructure on a virtualized platform
- Creating and facilitating plans for migration of systems to newer hardware platforms
- Supporting roadmap planning for technical refresh, obsolescence, and future planning
- Providing SME leadership for strategic and tactical activities including presentations to executive staff, district and program office support, and future planning
- Preparing technical and programmatic reports and participate in meetings as directed
Requirements
Requirements:
- Senior-level experience with Linux Operating Systems (specifically RedHat or CentOS), NetApp, Cisco Routers and Switches, Palo Alto, RedHat Software/Services, Splunk, Nessus and other Software tools.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or Math/Science degree
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience
- Must be a US citizen and meet eligibility requirements for a US Public Trust.
- Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; be a strong self-starter, analytical, and problem-solving skills; be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint); able to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment; and possess the ability to work well on a team and autonomously.
- This position requires up to 30% travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master of Science in IT or STEM related field.
- Knowledge of satellite communications a plus.
- FAA systems engineering experience
- Familiarity with FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) and Systems Engineering Manual
