The health services that became the Anthony L Jordan Health Corporation (Jordan Health) began more than 100 years ago, in 1904. As one of the first 5 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) established in the nation, its roots are steeped in service to those who face barriers to health and health care, meeting their need for comprehensive medical, dentistry, behavioral health, and community services. Starting in northeast Rochester, NY, Jordan Health has since expanded to become a network of primary care offices and health centers serving residents living in three quadrants of Rochester, NY and in Canandaigua, N.Y.
Jordan Health is now seeking a Somali Interpreter who, under the guidance of the Practice Manager, is primarily responsible for serving as a liaison and cultural broker between health center staff and patients and is responsible for facilitation of access of health care services for all patients best served by a language other than English.

The Somali Interpreter will ensure that:
· Provide Somali/Maay Maay interpretive services to health center patients.
· Provides follow-up on health care concerns as requested by provider i.e., referral information, future appointments, assist to coordinate non-Jordan services.
· Maintains confidentiality of patient communication.
· Translates documents and written materials as requested.
· Register’s new patient’s specific to languages spoken.
· Must pass the Medical Interpreting course within 6 months of hire.
Education And Experience Required:
· High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
· One year of directly related experience in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred.
· Bilingual in Maay Maay and Somali language.
· Experience working in a position requiring customer interaction.
Special Skills, Knowledge Required:
· Computer skills is highly desirable.
