Facilities Manager

Position Summary:

Responsible for maintenance of the physical plant, equipment and grounds of the agency, CILA homes and other sites across Aspire.

Position Responsibilities:

The following represents the primary position responsibilities, but other related duties necessary to meet the needs of the organization may be assigned.

  • Directs the overall maintenance activities necessary to operate and maintain the Aspire Academy, HQ,  and 16 CILA homes. This includes but is not limited to, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, snow removal.
  • Interviews, trains, supervise, evaluate and discipline Facilities & Maintenance staff.
  • Assists the Director and Associate Director with developing capital improvement budgets
  • Responsible for developing cost estimates through bid process for required repairs.
  • Completes Work Orders requested by Managing Staff and submitted through Facility Tree.
  • Takes an active role on the Safety Committee and performs environmental safety inspections.
  • Ensures DOL regulations and DHS-ORS guidelines are adhered to (regarding maintenance, transportation, and safety)
  • Maintains facility & maintenance requests in Facility Tree program and facilitate/prioritize work assignments for crews. Delegates any assignments as deemed appropriate.
  • Coordinates construction activities with contractors and staff. Initiates requisitions for the purchase of materials and supplies.
  • Completes all preventive and routine maintenance. Maintains accurate maintenance records.
  • Prepares administrative reports as assigned for special projects.
  • Completes reports on accidents, vandalism, thefts, and threat assessments.
  • The employee may be asked to perform other duties as required by the employer’s business needs.
  • Cooperation with compliance and quality improvement initiatives and protocols.

Reporting to this Position: Maintenance Technician


Required Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Two years of maintenance experience
  • Two years of supervisory experience

Additional Licensing/Certifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • 21 years old or older

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Ability to supervise the work of skilled crafts persons and departmental employees.
  • Knowledge of current practices of maintenance and operations in the areas of: HVAC, electricity; equipment/vehicle maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, governmental codes and regulations related to safety, fire, construction, and public access; cognizant of fire, safety, and building codes.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) experience required..
