Description

The role supervises the Prep Supervisor assigned two different locations. The supervisor will instruct, train and five directives for the prep team to ensure the pre weighing of raw materials is in accordance with formulations and the kitting SUP. The supervisor will ensure the team follows the weekly schedule and must be in constant communication with the line of leadership. They will work closely with the Kitting manager on duty to ensure the correct items are weighted daily per the weekly schedule. The Prep supervisor will help Identify safety, quality, and productivity improvements.

  • Compounder Supervisor the prep department direct reports in their job performances, and abilities to execute tasks in a timely and precise manner. 
  • Supervisors will instruct, train and give directives for team to ensure batch making is in accordance with formulations. 
  • He/ She ensures team construct and operate manufacturing and processing equipment such as blenders, pumps, tanks, accurate product routing, and record real time documentation. 
  • Supervisors will manager team schedules and must be in constant communication with line of leadership, and HR for personnel status related matters.

 

Requirements

Manages prep department team to conduct the following essential tasks: 

  • Reads specifications to determine batch characteristics and type and weight of ingredients to be used.
  • We prefer someone with at least 1 - 3 years of Compounding Managers/Supervisor experience.
  • A background in compounding or pharmaceuticals can help, beverage experience is a plus. 
  • Picks and weighs raw materials for compounding process according to Standard Operating Procedures, Batch Production Records, and current General Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
  • Turns valves and pours ingredients to fill mixer and pump containers.
  • Starts equipment and adjusts temperature, time, and speed controls to blend ingredients, adding additional ingredients during blending cycle as specified.
  • Records type and quantity of materials used and processes paperwork according to formula and procedures.
  • Identifies incorrect batches, determines the root cause of the issue, informs supervisor, and fixes these batches.
  • Obtains and delivers samples of product as required by control documents.
  • Cleans and sanitizes all manufacturing equipment and preparation areas.
  • Returns unused raw ingredients to appropriate storage place.
  • Checks equipment status and reports any issues to maintenance.
  • May operate a forklift or pallet jack to obtain and return raw materials.
  • May perform minor maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
  • Responsibility includes the management of activities for the safety, integrity, legality, and quality of our food
  • products.
  • Leads the facility in the adoption and disciplined use of a clearly defined, well-documented, and systematic commercialization process for implementing change into plant processes for new product launches and product process redesigns.
  •  The Batch Processing Manager is responsible for directing and supervising a team of Associate Prep Managers and batching technicians.
  • Collaborates with the production and planning department to create production schedules that meets customer orders.
  • Establishes and adjusts work procedures and schedules to meet production plan.
  • Work with other departments to ensure all materials follow inventory standards.
  • Ensures all team members are trained and work in compliance with all applicable standard work practices, regulatory requirements, GMP s, HACCP and FSSC expectations.
  • Provides direction to Assistant Prep Managers on team member coaching and development, employment decisions, and resolving issues through conflict resolution.
  • Hires, trains, coaches and reviews performance of team members and supervisors. Partners with Human Resources for recruitment, corrective actions, and terminations.
  • Collaborates with department leadership to plan preventative maintenance for batching and H3 areas.
  • Analyzes and submits reports for batching yields, system processes, attendance, overtime, and quality checks to the Plant Managers & VP’s.
  • Collaborates with the Plant Leadership to develop the Batching Department goals and forecast
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production batching methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, and to reduce raw material/product shrink.
  • Partners with the Quality Department on customer complaint resolution and CAPA
  • Partners with the Quality Department to prevent and resolve Non-Conforming Finished Goods and Non- Conforming Raw Materials.
  •  Collaborates with raw material planners to ensure correct inventories based on production schedules.
  • Escalates supplier quality issues to prevent customer shortages.
  • Develops capital equipment justification for machine upgrades and process technology to improve quality, cost, and batching throughput.
  • Assists the Plant Integrity Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager, Food Safety Officer, Plant Chemist
  • and R&D Department to obtain FSSC Certification and excellent audit ratings. 
  • Implements quality management and food safety systems to assure adherence to FSSC to meet product specifications,
